CHASTITY!

I think that it must take a brave, adoring, dedicated submissive to wear one of these. And a Dominant who demands total obedience from his, or her sub. Does a wearing a chastity belt involve pain? Possibly; it would certainly involve suffering. Perhaps the Master, or Mistress, tells the submissive that it is for his or her own good. Maybe it is a game; a role play, where the Dominant tells the submissive that they cannot be trusted. Maybe the sub really cannot be trusted. Maybe the BDSM illustrated here, involves a spiritual dimension, the Dominant having total control over the submissive’s sexuality. Orgasm is denied, for as long as the Dominant chooses, as is any sort of sexual contact.

Prior to the invention of the chastity belt, there were two surgical procedures performed to prevent access to the genitals.

Women underwent the procedure of infibulation, which involved the sewing together of the labia majora. Allowing only a small opening, to allow for urination and menstrual bleeding. The hole was too small to allow for penetration, or any other access to the vagina.

Men underwent a similar procedure, also known as infibulation, involving the sewing together of the foreskin around the glans. Again, a small hole was left to allow for urination. The process created a tension which prevented erectile expansion of the tissues and skin.

Here are some devices, ancient and modern, which I found on the web.

I haven’t yet written a tale around a chastity belt theme; after looking at some of these that I found on the web, I might give it a try!

Here is what Wiki has to say.

"A chastity belt is a locking item of clothing designed to prevent sexual intercourse. They may be used to protect the wearer from rape or temptation. Some devices have been designed with additional features to prevent masturbation. Chastity belts have been created for males and females, ostensibly for the purpose of chastity.
The term "chastity belt" is also used as a metaphor in modern English to imply over protectiveness. The term carries a derisive connotation and may also imply that the subject is antiquated, or is cumbersome, or provides unnecessary or unwanted protection.
According to modern myths the chastity belt was used as an anti-temptation device during the Crusades. When the knight left for the Holy Lands on the Crusades, his Lady would wear a chastity belt to preserve her faithfulness to him. However, there is no credible evidence that chastity belts existed before the 15th century (more than one hundred years after the last Crusade), and their main period of apparent use falls within the Renaissance rather than the Middle Ages.

In any case, Renaissance chastity belts were said to have had padded linings (to prevent large areas of metal from coming into direct prolonged contact with the skin), and these had to be changed fairly frequently, so that such belts were not practical for uninterrupted long-term wear. Uninterrupted long-term wear could have caused genitourinary infection, abrasive wounds, sepsis and eventual death."

Thanks to Jan Vander Laenan for his help in putting together this post.
